ON TRACK Report - the Response

The On Track project team investigated 165 infringement reports during the 18 month data collection period and collected over 2,500 comments and suggestions for evaluation via an innovative website forum, email, freepost and telephone. The significant findings of the project are summarised in Section 7 of the On Track report under the following headings:

Airspace and ATC Issues
Lower Airspace Radar Service
Maps and Charts
Aeronautical Information Circulars
NOTAMS
GPS
GPS Training
R/T Training
Navigation Training
GA use of Transponders
Licensing Issues
Communication
CAA Investigation and Follow-up Procedures

For each of these 13 subject areas, the project team identified specific problems and made associated recommendations. These are now being considered in turn by the CAA’s AIWG, and the response will evolve as each set of recommendations are considered in turn. Responses will also be updated in the light of further developments. To view full comment on the On Track report’s findings and recommendations, click here.
